Sometimes the Truth hurts, but it’s worth it if it gets us to Jesus

Amos (1:1, 2:6-8, 5:4,6,21-26, 7:14, 9:11-12), Proverbs 27:6

Q: Do you want to hear hard truths about yourself, or avoid them? Why?

Q: Do you like to share hard truths about others (to them), or avoid it? Why?

Q: How do the Scriptures/concepts from this week help you grow as a disciple who loves God, loves people & serves the world (lives on incarnational mission) in everyday life?

Q: Based on these Scriptures, how can you move from unbelief to belief, from just knowing to actually doing in your life?

Be With Jesus (Abide) / Love God (UP)...

Q: Why would God even care about if His people were exploiting the vulnerable & living sinful, hypocritical, superficial lives?

Q: How do these things deeply damage a relationship with Him & their ability to demonstrate what is so amazing about God?

Become Like Jesus(Formation) / Love People (IN)...

Q: Israel had completely left God’s way to pursue their own. Are there any ways that you walked away from the Way of Jesus to pursue your own?If so, how can you surrender it back to Him?

Do What Jesus Did / Serve the World (OUT)...

Q: How do the lessons from the “unlikely hero” Amos help form how you view & interact with the world around you?

1) Ask God to show you the world around you as HE sees it & to give you the strength to speak God’s Truth into it in a clear & loving way.

2) Ask God for someone to see you as HE sees you & to clearly & lovingly speak His Truth into your life.
