TODAY:

Unlikely Heroes | Part 2 – Moses

BIG IDEA:

Our struggles are opportunities to rely on the unshakable strength of God

SCRIPTURES:

Exodus 2-4, Galatians 1:10, Acts 7:25, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, Deuteronomy 31:6,8

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

Q: Do you ever feel like you don’t belong? If so, where & why not?

Q: How do the Scriptures/concepts from this week help you grow as a disciple who loves God, loves people & serves the world (lives on incarnational mission) in everyday life?

Q: Based on these Scriptures, how can you move from unbelief to belief, from just knowing to actually doing in your life?

Be With Jesus (Abide) / Love God (UP)...

Q: Read Exodus 2-4. How does Moses attempt to resist God? Do you see a bit of yourself in Moses?

Q: Why is finding your acceptance & belonging in Jesus foundational to having healthy relationships with the people around you?

Become Like Jesus(Formation) / Love People (IN)...

Q: Moses tried to find belonging with people but ended up trying to avoid those same people. How can God help transform you from trying to find acceptance from people to being a person who loves & serves God first, then loves & serves others because of that love?

Q: How can your own experiences of “not belonging” help you love & serve others who might not feel like they belong either?

Do What Jesus Did / Serve the World (OUT)...

Q: God asked Moses what seemingly ordinary item was in his hand, then proceeded to do something miraculous with it. What’s in your hand that God can use for His purposes?

ACTION STEPS

1) Commit yourselfto finding your “belonging” in Jesus.

2) Ask God where you are relying on your own strengths &/or where you hiding behind weaknesses?

3) Ask God if there is a part of your everyday life that He wants to use to help others know Him?
