TODAY:

Discipleshift | Part 2 – Living Lives That Match Our Calling

BIG IDEA:

We are all following & being formed by something. Discipleship is intentionally following & being formed by JESUS.

SCRIPTURES:

Matthew 4:19, Luke 5:27-32, Ephesians 4:1-6,11-16

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

Q: How have you grown as a person & in your faith over the past several years? How are you currently growing?

Q: How do the Scriptures/concepts from this week help you grow as a disciple who loves God, loves people & serves the world (lives on incarnational mission) in everyday life?

Q: Based on these Scriptures, how can you move from unbelief to belief, from just knowing to actually doing in your life?

Connect with God (UP)...

QQ: Read Ephesians 5:1-6,11-16. How has God “invited you to the banquet” of Life with & in Him?

Q: How can the unity, diversity & maturity that God calls us to reveal His character & mission in the world?

Q: Conversely, how does a lack of unity, diversity &/or maturity in the Church cause confusion about God & His mission to the world?

Connect with Others (IN)...

Q: How does maturity in our faith (growing from self-centeredness to others- centeredness) significantly impact unity within the Body (Church) of Jesus?

Q: What are some ways you can practice & promote unity within the local church & the larger Church?

Connect with the World (OUT)...

Q: Read Luke 5:27-32. How did Jesus call Levi(Matthew) to join what He was doing in the world that Levi(Matthew) had just come out of?

Q: How can you mature from being influenced by the world to influencing the world around you?

NOTES & QUOTES

"A disciple is someone who follows Jesus, is transformed by Jesus, and joins Jesus in what He's doing."

ACTION STEPS

1) Think through how God has entrusted you w/ gifts, abilities, resources, etc.

& how you can allow Him to use them?

2) Evaluate how you fit into the local church, as well as within God’s larger

Church? Are there things that are disrupting unity as God designed us for?

3) Examine where you are at in the maturity of your faith? What is one specific

growth step that you can take this week?
