  1. How do you feel about adoption? Do you have any experience with it? Explain. 

  2. How do you feel about being adopted by God?

  3. What's the difference between being "justified" & being "adopted"?

  4. Could anyone other than Jesus have reconciled us to God? Has anyone/anything else tried?

  5. How would trying to see our identity to God as being "biological" in some way undermine the Gospel? 

  6. Identify the problem with the following statement: "God adopts us because we deserve a better life." 

  7. Does the idea of having an intimate relationship with God strengthen or weaken your idea of God?

  8. How does the doctrine of adoption impact the way we view others in the Church?

  9. Do you people you know view "church" as family, social group, event, experience, building (etc.)?

  10. What would make us want to continue to live as slaves instead of sons?

  11. How does the idea of God's adoptive love help you grow as a disciple who loves God, loves people & serves the world?
